Gelukkig Nieuwjaar!

We had a simple New Year's eve celeb at home. It was our first time to spend the holidays here since we moved in last 2010. It was a happy first for us. At midnight, Dad & I stayed out in the terrace for a few minutes (yes, in spite of the cold)  and watched the fireworks display of some rich neighbors  (who lived in villas by the way) and the one in Atomium. It was a good five minute show. We were about to go back inside the house, when some of the people from the apartment opposite ours raised their champagne glasses and waved to us. They were happily shouting happy new year to everyone. I shouted back happy new year too! (at the top of my voice at that!)  Being friendly with the neighbors was definitely a good way to start the year!

Oh well, here are some souvenir shots we took during the NY.

we tried to fill the table with round objects. We had cream puffs, chocolates & round fruits. Our basket was filled with 16 kinds of fruits for good luck.

We went to Mass that morning to thank Papa Jesus for all his blessings the previous year and pray for His continuous love and guidance this year. We came home to this luscious lunch cooked by Mommy. The recipe was from the Jamie Oliver book Dad & I gave her last Christmas. Dad was definitely right about giving her that book. :)
yum!
