Where did the holidays go? It seemed to me it all came and went in a flash. I didn't even had enough time to savor it like I should. Nah, I'm just kiddin'! I just wanted to sound a li'l dramatic for more impact :)
The Christmas season is the happiest time of the year and like any child, I spent each waking moment of the previous month looking forward to that magical Christmas morning when I could finally open my presents. The day came and I wasn't disappointed. I had my doubts of course (wink) . Unlike last year, I had no grand folks, aunts and uncles to spoil me with lavish gifts this time. I told yah you can't blame me for having doubts.:) As suspected, Dad and Mom came to the rescue once again. I was not kidding when I said I wasn't disappointed. :) The whole process of opening gifts on Christmas morn was a pleasurable experience for me. I just have to say, my parents do have a knack for giving gifts. ( wink at Mom & Dad)
Christmas is for families and friends sharing their love with each other. I had a sizable chunk of that Christmas love from my parents, friends and from my loved ones abroad. Yes. My loved ones, specifically my lolos and lolas. They may be a thousand miles away from me but I felt their love just the same. It is certainly not the same as having them around but they made sure i felt their love and presence despite the distance.
I want you to know that its not your gifts I missed a lot this year...but your presence. I missed having the chance to drink hot choco with you on Christmas morning. I missed the bear hugs and loud smacks you give whenever you see me enter the room. I missed going to Christmas mass with you, holding your hands during the Lord's prayer...helping me put some coins on the donation basket. I missed being able to go Christmas shopping with you.....or patiently wait in line (a loooong one at that) at grocery stores while you hold my hand just to make sure I don't get lost.. or simply lounging around at home knowing you're all there to warn me to be careful with the vase, or put the phone down or drink lots of water after eating my candy treats.
Yes, I know how fortunate I am to have my Mom and Dad here.... but wouldn't it be nice if I could have you all with me on Christmas Day? Just a thought.
Oh, I know! I just have to be more specific to Santa next time. Maybe he'll wrap all of you and put you under our tree next time.
My Christmas was great, except there wasn't too much snow this year. I am sure you all had a fine time too! I just want you to know, I had all of you on my mind the whole time.
Have a mirthful Christmas! I love you! :)

Christmas is the only time of year when I get really spoiled by my mom & dad. Oh, except my birthday. I still wonder though how they were able to buy all of these without their prying little girl notice anything. I know I am nosy enough to be a spy, but these 2 are really great at keeping things from me, hm mm.
Sorry to brag, but I am just soo proud to share what I got from Mom and Dad this year. See, it pays not to be on the naughty list this year :)

Speaking of happy, Christmas isn't just about presents or Christmas cards...but its about pigging out as well! It's the Christmas feasts that I also look forward to every year. This year we had bihon, chinese starters, veggie dips, canapes, stuffed turkey and sweet flan for dessert.

On Christmas Day, we took a quick visit to a special place....Dad's surprise to us:) I will post a separate entry for that :) Our Christmas day dinner at home was something simpler.

| Christmas night ended with the three of us watching our favorite Christmas movie, "It's a wonderful life". Christmas movie marathon is a tradition in our family and it is never complete without the Home Alone series and Its a Wonderful Life. |
My Christmas was a happy one. It could have been perfect if all my loved ones were with us to celebrate the wonderful occasion but since we are living in an imperfect world....this could suffice for now. Happy holidays!
What is your Christmas story? :) I am sure you had a great one too! Let's all stay good this year so Santa won't put us on the naughty list next Christmas. :)
